The MHCHS manages 552 rental units & 380 private market rent supplements throughout Medicine Hat and Redcliff. These units are available for households with low or modest incomes. The chart below identifies the maximum income per household depending on the number of bedrooms required by the household, as determined by the Government of Alberta.
Potential participants must undergo an application process to determine their eligibility. The applicant will be evaluated according to household income thresholds, household composition, asset limits, and citizenship requirements. Once it has been determined that the applicant meets the eligibility requirements, he or she will be placed on a waiting list for the most suitable housing program. Each application undergoes a needs assessment which determines where it will sit on a waiting list.
